How do I create an account?
You need to create an account in order to use the app.
From the login screen you can create your account. You have to confirm your email address (check your spam folder!) first.
After that you can choose which application you want to use: PKU, PDE, MSUD, GA1 etc. Once you've created your account you can always add other diseases apps from within your account. You do this from the top menu bar within the app (add member).
Can I use my old account?
No, you have to set up a new account via the login page with your email or google account. As this is a brand new app, your old data won't be carried over.
How can I access the legacy version of the metabolic diets app?
The old version will be accessible via this link. It will be available till summer 2024 but it won't be supported. We advise everybody to switch to the new app at your earliest convenience.
Can you try / see multiple diseases on one account?
Yes, you just need one account. Within the app -on the top right- you can manage your profile and "add members".
I want to add my own food but I don’t know all the nutrient values?
When adding your own food or recipes the application prompts you to fill out as much information as you know. If you don’t know some values you can leave those blank.
When indicated, the application will calculate an approximate value for the missing nutrient (lysine for example) based on the protein value.
How do I set my daily diet goals / limits?
Within the app, from the main screen (bottom right) you can set your tracking values. If you don't want to track a certain value you can leave it blank. You can change your tracking values anytime.
What database do you use?
The database that is used in the app is provided by Genetic Metabolic Dietitians International (GMDI).
In the PKU app we've also added the possibility to use data from the USDA database.
Furthermore you can always add your own food and set your own nutrient values within the app.
